In our outdoor P.E. session last week we ran part of the daily mile, before choosing our own activities and equipment to create small team games. These included basketball, football, various throwing and catching games and even hula hooping, helping us to become 'Healthy Confident Individuals'.

Dances
As part of our topic work, we worked in groups to create our own 1950's & 1960's dance. Our routines are inspired by dances such as the Bop, Hand Jive, Bunny Hop, Chicken Head and the Pony. We hope you enjoy watching.

Return to school
We are very excited (as I’m sure are you) to have the children return to school on Monday 15 th
March 2021. We would like to settle the children as quickly as possible back into a routine and as
part of this would like the children to wear their school uniform please.
There have been some changes to the arrangements for your child’s class. So please read the
following information.
MRS KING
Start time- 8:50am-9am via middle gate Lanwern Rd
Collection time 2:50-3pm via middle gate Lanwern Rd
Mrs King’s class will be dismissed from the small yard area outside the class.
Please form an orderly, socially distanced queue from the class yard gate and down the
ramp next to the railings and along the building.
Please do not cut through Mrs Davies Cox’s yard as you will be going against the one way
traffic as you join the queue on the ramp.
Siblings from Mrs Davies Cox’s class will be brought to you on the bottom yard.
Please move to the collection waiting area for siblings in the top block or exit the school via
the park gates.
Please do not wait in the path of the one way system.
Younger siblings already collected MUST NOT run around in the collection waiting area. Please
keep them next to you and avoid them mixing with other children on the yard as this compromises
the bubbles we work hard to maintain during the school day. Staff will be on the yard to support
you in the collection waiting area.
All other KS2 classes will be brought out a class at a time from the top door (near park gates) of the
top block. Please remain in the collection waiting area until your child’s name is called. Please exit
the school as quickly as possible or return to the collection zone if you have other children to collect.
We appreciate your patience as we are aware that this may take a little longer than usual to collect
your children. We hope that this will provide a more orderly way of collecting your children whilst
keeping everyone safe.
Please continue to wear your masks on the school site, if you do not have a medical exemption and
please ensure only 1 responsible adult comes onto the school site at drop and collection times.
Please contact the school if you have any questions regarding the return on Monday.

Science
For Science we have been trying to find out why the Arctic sea level is rising. We tested three sensible suggestions (hypotheses).
We made our predictions before using some simple equipment to
help us.
At the end of our investigation we found out that warmer Arctic seas and melting ice on
the land, causes the sea level to go up. However, melting sea ice does not make
the sea level rise.
We also had lots of fun on the yard with ice cubes!
